Northridge, CA (May 1, 2008) -- JBL Professional will be displaying the latest in its VerTec Series of line array loudspeakers at AES Amsterdam. The new JBL VerTec VT4889ADP Full Range High Directivity Line Array Element and companion VT4880ADP Ultra Long Excursion Arrayable Subwoofer round out JBL's powered full-size VerTec DP Series, featuring integrated JBL DrivePack digital signal processing technology.
With the JBL DrivePack DP-3 digital electronics modules, co-developed with Harman Pro Group sister companies Crown International and dbx Professional, the VT4889ADP and VT4880ADP incorporate Crown's BCA (Balanced Current Amplification) technology and dbx's analog audio inputs, Type IV analog-to-digital conversion circuitry, and onboard digital signal processing technology. The modular input bay design allows for insertion of optional networked DPCN (Cobranet-compatible) input modules, allowing these systems to link into Haman's HiQnet system.

The VT4889ADP 3-way full-size line array element is fitted with two 380 mm (15 in) low frequency transducers, four 203 mm (8 in) midrange components and three 76 mm (1.5 in) neodymium compression drivers with beryllium diaphragms. The VT4889ADP weighs 93.1 kg (205 lb) and delivers 143 dB SPL maximum output (1 m); the VT4880ADP 2 x 18-inch subwoofer weighs 99.9 kg (220 lb) and delivers 137 dB SPL (1 m). The VT4889ADP and VT4880ADP are pre-configured with JBL's new V4 DSP preset data, developed with the aid of JBL's LDM (Loudspeaker Data Manager) software, for optimized acoustical performance.
During AES Amsterdam, JBL will also be introducing eight new compact AE Series loudspeaker models suiting various applications for systems designers and installers. The new AE Compact loudspeaker family consists of eight high-output, 2-way loudspeakers incorporating either single or dual woofers, including 5.25-inch, 6.5-inch, and 8-inch transducers. The high-frequency sections include a one-inch dome tweeter for two models (AC15 and AC25), while the remaining six models incorporate one-inch exit compression drivers.
