...And Even More New Products At AES Amsterdam
By Janice Brown
May 14, 2008, 10:00
Amsterdam (May 14, 2008) -- This weekend at AES Amsterdam, German manufacturer, Marian, will show its range of broadcast sound systems including Trace Pro and the level measuring system, PMS32. Marian will also be presenting the new Trace AES42--a card designed in cooperation with Neumann and Schoeps specifically for remote-controlling and recording from digital microphones.
A presentation workplace will be set up at Marian's AES Booth (2121), where visitors will be able to lay hands on the Trace AES42, as well as on the company's new product line based on the PCIexpress interface. For more information on the Trace AES42 and other products by Marian, visit www.marian.de.
Acoustics Engineering (www.acoustics-engineering.com) will introduce the latest version of DIRAC (Dual Input Room Acoustics Calculator), a software tool for field or laboratory acoustics engineers. Conforming to the ISO 3382, ISO 18233 and IEC 60268-16 standards, DIRAC 4.1 measures acoustical impulse responses using MLS, sweep, impulsive or noise signals and calculates a large number of room acoustic parameters. Some of the new features are the improved open loop measurement and the auralisation.
Other Acoustics Engineering products to be presented at AES Amsterdam are the ZIRCON loudspeaker microphone probe for In-Situ absorption and reflection measurements, the PYRITE (B&K Type 4292) omni-directional sound source, the TRITON USB audio interface and the AMPHION measurement power amplifier.
In Booth 1805, Dorrough Electronics (www.dorrough.com) will be demonstrating its 5.1 display Loudness Meter. This display is intended to provide the operator with the loudness level of each individual channel, along with its compatibility (phase relationship) with its associated channels. The "Dialog" or Center channel includes an adjustable reference so that the operator is able to match the Dorrough meter reference to the required DialNorm level.
Pinguin will display the latest versions of its professional stereo and surround metering software for PCs. Among other new software updates, Penguin will be demonstrating its HDIR Creator software, which derives very high resolution acoustical fingerprints from arbitrary rooms in order to build libraries for convolution reverbs. Penguin's HDIR library has been implemented for the first time in full resolution in Weiss Engineering's new POWERHOUSE. For more information on HDIR Creator and other Pinguin products, visit www.masterpinguin.de.
Another software developer, Acustica Audio, will be demonstrating its Nebula3 and Nat3 VST plug-ins at AES. Acustica plug-ins are based on the company's VVKT: Vectorial Volterra Kernels Technology. For more information on these new DSP effects plug-ins, visit www.acusticaudio.net.
