Enfield, CT (May 1, 2008) -- At the upcoming AES Amsterdam, CharterOak Acoustic Devices will debut three new products -- the SCL-1 solid state compressor/limiter, the M900-T microphone, and the Small Studio Collection microphones.
The CharterOak SCL-1 will be released under the CharterOak Entertainment Group brand, having been created for CharterOak's subsidiary Studio.45 and CharterOak Multimedia companies. The SCL-1 employs all discreet electronics and, according to CharterOak, is capable of providing a constant output level regardless of input level or frequency, without the familiar pumping inherent in most compressor/limiters. The unit, which will begin shipping in June of '08, reportedly delivers fast attack times without overcompensation, and a release characteristic, which is a function of dynamic range and average program level.
CharterOak's M900-T microphone employs the same cardioid, hyper-cardioid, and omni capsules used with its M900 Transformerless Small Diaphragm Condenser mic, but the M900-T combines these capsules with a vacuum tube head amplifier and custom output transformer.
The CharterOak Small Studio Collection is a total microphone solution for small recording studios with a tight budget. The Small Studio Collection consists of the CharterOak SA538 Large Diaphragm Condenser, the E700 Solid State condenser and a sequentially numbered matched pair of M900s, a full-spectrum mic selection to suit any recording situation from vocals to orchestra to loud electric guitars. This collection is delivered in a solid locking flight case with all of the necessary accessories and CharterOak's Lifetime Warranty.
