Event to Feature Inaugural Induction of Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame
NEW YORK — (August 1, 2007) The Second Annual League Technology Summit, featuring an unprecedented line-up of senior production and operations executives from the sports leagues and their broadcast partners, has been announced by the Sports Video Group (SVG) for December 11, 2007 at the New York Hilton Hotel in midtown New York City.
This executive interface and networking event will feature exclusive NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR and PGA interactive, roundtable discussions on strategies for profitable implementation of high-definition TV, mobile devices and broadband. Last year's event attracted over 425 sports technology executives who openly exchanged ideas about how they are using new technologies to lead to dynamic improvements in programming and profits for their organizations.
This year's event will be culminated by the First Annual Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, which will induct 12 individuals who represent the ideal of professionalism, innovation and overall excellence in sportscasting. Explains SVG Chairman Ken Aagaard, "For many of those outside of the technical community, the contributions of these great individuals remain a mystery. It is vital for the broadcast community to publicly recognize and applaud the contributions of those who have come before us and who have advanced the quality of the sports viewing experience."
In addition to the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, the day-long event will include a Technology Showcase Lounge and networking luncheon. Event sponsorships and exhibits are limited to SVG sponsoring companies only.
An invitation-only Mobile Production Engineering Workshop is also scheduled for the New York Hilton on December 10, 2007 to coincide with the Summit and Hall of Fame activities.
